Senior Producer/Director, Production Coordinator

George Mason University invites applications to join the nationally recognized, creative production team at George Mason University Television (GMU-TV) as our next Senior Producer/Director, Production Coordinator. We are looking for a candidate with that perfect mix of left brain and right brain to compliment the skills of our talented, award-winning staff. Applicants must demonstrate a passion and proficiency in all aspects of video production including the aesthetic standards and production techniques of television production, as well as have experience and interest in coordinating and supervising the logistical details of video production and distribution.

Specific areas of knowledge and experience required are: production planning, coordination and scheduling; script writing; theory and operation of professional studio and field production equipment; directing; lighting and videography techniques in field and studio situations; nonlinear editing; and video compression, basic equipment troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.

A degree in broadcasting, production, communication or multimedia design is required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of the college degree requirement. Significant demonstrated professional video production or production coordination experience is required (at least three years is preferred). Working as a team player with diverse populations, and willingness to work flexible shifts are requirements. One year of previous supervisory experience is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of production management software, Adobe Final Cut Pro Studio, and Microsoft Office are further preferred.

Concerned Black Men - National Organization (CBM) a national youth development and family services organization is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Communications Manager. The position is based in the CBM National Office located in Washington DC. Job

Summary: Develops and execute strategic marketing and communications plans which may include but not limited to website, internet, online/offline and social media to reach targeted audiences. Provides innovation across all communication areas and provide competitive insight into communications and branding strategies. The successful candidate will analyze new products/ media to enhance the marketing and overall communications work of the Organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work with senior management to establish and execute the communications plan that will support the Organization’s business strategies and program efforts. Lead and evaluate communications activity for the Organization in line with the communications strategy including:
  2. Work collaboratively with senior management to create and manage cross-organizational, integrated marketing strategies.
  3. Coordinate communications projects with vendors and contractors for the development and production of promotional materials, web site production and other collateral.
  4. Provide writing and editing support for all outbound communication including all promotional materials, website content, a monthly newsletter and the Organization’s annual report.
  5. Assist in developing new revenue sources through supplier membership, exhibits and sponsorships.
  6. Serve as internal liaison to the meetings department and other staff resources
  7. Review and edit existing promotional materials for marketing effectiveness, cross-selling implications and adherence to brand guidelines.
  8. Work on campaigns and initiatives and to ensure coordination of activity with Services Divisions within the Organization and chapters when applicable.

Qualifications: A BA Degree with at least 3 years demonstrated experience in planning, marketing, communications and media relations; Excellent business acumen; Excellent organization and project management skills; Outstanding written and oral communication skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with a strong knowledge of Excel; Knowledge of Adobe; strong social media and internet skills essential.

  • 3+ years of combined experience in multiple media communications technologies • Professional experience in three or more of the following: media facilities, streaming media, videoconferencing, optical fiber, audio/video routing and network, digital file formats, storage and manipulation, advanced computer knowledge, intranet and internet infrastructure and/or new media technologies • 1+ year of combined experience working with sub-contractors and/or outside vendors
